Since 2008, The WCWA Continues To Grow In 2016

The Women’s College Wrestling Association has come a long way since 2008.

In 2008, according to themat.com, “During the fifth annual Women’s College Freestyle National Championships, held this past weekend in Oklahoma City, Okla., coaches from the women’s college wrestling teams formed a new organization to oversee their sport. The Women’s College Wrestling Association (WCWA) was created by a vote of the coaches in attendance.[adToAppearHere]

The coaches agreed upon eligibility rules for athletes, the scoring system for the national championships, weigh-in procedures and organizational dues, among other topics.”

From humble beginnings the WCWA has grown to have at least 30 colleges now in participation.[adToAppearHere]

2016 promises to be another great year.
