Female Teenagers are making a name for themselves while polishing impressive trophies and breaking records along the way.
Let’s meet and praise three of them.
Coco Gauff is an American professional tennis player.
As of this July 8, 2022 writing, she is the youngest player ranked in the top 100 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and has a career-high ranking of world No. 12 in singles achieved on June 20, 2022.
Coco won her first WTA Tour singles title at the 2019 Linz Open aged 15, making her the youngest singles title-holder on the Tour since 2004.
Coco rose to prominence with a win over Venus Williams in the opening round at Wimbledon 2019.
Born to parents with NCAA Division I collegiate backgrounds in basketball and track and field, Ms. Gauff experimented with a variety of sports as a child.
She chose tennis, preferring an individual as opposed to team sport, inspired by the Williams sisters.
We’re glad she did.
Now it is time for a drum roll.
Coco played lights out and finished in the 2022 French Open Finals.
Speaking of Grand Slam finals, Emma Raducanu, now 19, shocked the tennis world when she won the 2021 US Open without dropping a set.
She is the reigning US Open champion and the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade in the 1977 Wimbledon Championships.
At the US Open two months later, Emma became the first singles qualifier in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam title, beating Leylah Fernandez in the final without dropping a set in the tournament. It was only the second Grand Slam tournament of her career; she holds the Open Era record for the fewest majors played before winning a title.
She reached a career-high ranking of No. 11 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) on April 25, 2022, and is the current British number one female tennis player.
Her US Open teenage opponent, Leylah Fernandez continues her march to greatness.
Leylah Fernandez is a Canadian professional tennis player.
She has a career-high ranking of No. 15 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), achieved on June 6, 2022.
Leylah won her first WTA Tour title at the 2021 Monterrey Open.
As a 19-year-old, she finished runner-up at the 2021 US Open to fellow teenager Emma Raducanu, defeating three top-5 players in route to the final, including the two time former US Open champion, Naomi Osaka.
Very spectacular teenagers.
We have another teenager on the horizon who is so impressive, though she is still climbing in the rankings, she already has a sponsorship deal.
Meet Ashlyn Krueger.
Ashlyn is an 18 year American tennis player.
Our budding star has a career high WTA singles ranking of 448 achieved on March 21, 2022. She also has a career high WTA doubles ranking of 208 achieved on March 21, 2022.
In 2020, Ms. Krueger won the Orange Bowl junior tournament as a wildcard.
Now that will get a sponsor’s attention.
She then made her WTA main draw debut at the 2021 Silicon Valley Classic, where she received a wildcard into the doubles main draw partnering Robin Montgomery.
Very good Ashlyn.
Every tennis player needs good hydration, especially during the long hard courts season.
When you think hydration, think Halo. Ashlyn sure does.
