Summer excitement for teens and kids usually includes a trip to Disneyland.
Disneyland is a theme park in Anaheim, California, which opened in 1955; it is the only one designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney, who came up with the concept of Disneyland after visiting various amusement parks with his daughters in the 1930s and 1940s.
Disneyland has a larger cumulative attendance than any other theme park in the world, with 726 million visits since it opened (as of December 2018). In 2018, the park had approximately 18.6 million visits, making it the second most visited amusement park in the world that year, behind only Magic Kingdom, the very park it inspired.
Summer is becoming a warm memory.
Fall is upon us.
Just because it is Fall, doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot going on at Disney.
There is.
Here are a few news items.
The informative Disney source wdwnt.com educates, “Disney Visa Cardmembers can receive special discounts on stays at Disneyland Resort hotels on select dates from October 20 – December 22, 2022.
Cardmembers can save up to 15% on Premium and Standard rooms at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and the Disneyland Hotel, and up to 10% on the same room types at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. Currently, the discount is available only on most Sunday through Thursday nights.”
Sounds wonderful. You should check in to it.
There’s more. Of course there’s more.
The Disney Tourist Blog excites, “Oriental Land Company (OLC) announced that Tokyo Disneyland’s 40th Anniversary will be the “Dream-Go-Round” celebration, and will start on April 15, 2023 and continue through March 31, 2024. “Dream-Go-Round” represents the happy moments that countless guests have experienced throughout the years at Tokyo Disney Resort.”
What a joyous time that could be.
We have been to Tokyo twice and it truly is an incredible Mega City.
It is a fantastic ambassador for Disney.
Speaking of Ambassadors for Disney, have you ever met one?
If not, you are about to.
Take it away Disney.
At disneycampus.com they share, with smiles, “Introducing Nataly Guzman, one of the 2022-23 Disney Ambassadors for the Disneyland Resort.
Nataly comes from a wealth of over 11 year’s experience working for The Walt Disney Company – her most recent being chosen for Disney Ambassador, where she serves alongside Mark King as one of two official spokespeople for the resort.
Before becoming a Disney Ambassador, Nataly had a wide variety of experience working for The Walt Disney Company. She started her Disney career as a merchandise hostess at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney District, later transitioning into a role in Guest Relations where she served as a VIP Tour Guide. Nataly’s leadership experience came into play in her work as a trainer and leader in Guest Relations and she even got to be a Traditions Facilitator with Disney University, leading the class for new hires into The Walt Disney Company. Finally, in preparation for her role as Disney Ambassador, Nataly served as a spokesperson for the resort for a couple of years.”
When Nataly speaks, we listen.
Now, it is time to listen up.
Someone super famous is going to Disneyland and you should know about.
Serena Williams just finished a spectacular 2022 US Open that had fans applauding, deliriously screaming and standing on their feet.
We were screaming too.
What does Serena do after a performance like that?
Go to Disneyland of course.

Tennis megastar appearing in iconic Disney TV commercial airing nationwide following remarkable US Open run; Disney to honor Williams’ extraordinary tennis career with dazzling celebration at Magic Kingdom
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Sept. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — At the US Open tournament, which is likely to be the last competition of her illustrious pro tennis career, Serena Williams was asked what she was going to do next.
She turned to the TV cameras and shouted: “I’m going to Disney World!”
Like so many titans of sport who have reached the pinnacle of their athletic careers, Williams is marking the evolution of her career beyond tennis in the most magical way possible – by going to Walt Disney World Resort!
First, her iconic “I’m Going to Disney World” proclamation is being turned into a national commercial airing today on TV networks, online channels and social media sites around the country. The spot pays homage to Williams’ unprecedented tennis career as well as her remarkable US Open run, which became must-see TV for fans worldwide. It also celebrates her impact beyond the court where she inspires working moms, advocates for women’s rights and gives a voice to social issues. And she does it all with Vogue-worthy style and flair.
Then, Williams will take things to another level with a fun-filled celebration at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida in the coming weeks, continuing a time-honored tradition that has followed so many major sports and entertainment moments. It will be an unforgettable day highlighted by beloved Disney characters, toe-tapping entertainment and a festive atmosphere befitting one of the greatest eras in sports. And it will be yet another magical moment in the 50th Anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort.
Williams left the court at the US Open as the queen of the game, a transcendent figure whose inspiring ascent from humble beginnings to the throne of women’s sports is the stuff of legend. No one has won more major tennis tournaments in the Open era. And no one has had a bigger impact on women’s sports during her era, bringing endorsement opportunities, TV ratings and global awareness to heights not seen previously. Likewise, her power game and athletic flair changed tennis and inspired a new generation of tennis prospects who are more diverse and more empowered than the generation before.
Her name will stand tall among the long list of sports superstars who have celebrated the ultimate achievement in their sport at Disney Parks. And it will put her amongst other extraordinary women who’ve been a part of the Disney campaign over the years. The popular Disney campaign started in 1987 when New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms first appeared in the commercial following his team’s Super Bowl victory.
