November 27, 2022,
Being shy can be overcome.
What can really help a young person overcome their shyness is to find an activity that they love, become exceptional at it and communicate it to their community and eventually the world.
There are so many young artists who started very young in their craft and are now communicating beautifully.
Jacqueline Evancho is an American classical crossover singer who gained wide recognition at an early age. Since 2009, she has issued a platinum-selling EP and nine albums, including three Billboard 200 top 10 debuts.
She has also presented three solo PBS concert specials.
Between 2008 and 2010, Ms. Evancho entered talent competitions, sang the US national anthem at a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game, issued her first album, Prelude to a Dream, and attracted interest on YouTube.
Here is her vibrant YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCUOIPyrBN1uW8B_-p1VisQ
Her rendition of “Both Sides Now” is wonderful. Breathtaking.
What you will notice at her channel is that many of her songs carry an important message and she has chosen to communicate that important information through song.
We also noticed that she updates frequently.
Others have noticed that as well.
On June 20, 2022, the team at talentrecap.com expressed, “On June 17, Jackie Evancho returned to YouTube with a brand new music video for her rendition of “Both Sides Now” originally performed by Joni Mitchell. The simple music video features the singer lip syncing to the track in a scenic location. Jackie looks absolutely stunning in this music video. Even though she’s wearing a simple look, she absolutely rocks the white dress/jean jacket combination.”
We agree. She really brings it to life and penetrates the soul.
In 2010, at the age of ten, she gained wide notice with her 2nd-place finish in the fifth season of America’s Got Talent.
The awards began to pile up.
With the 2010 holiday release of her O Holy Night EP, she became the best-selling debut artist of 2010, the youngest top-10 debut artist in US history and the youngest solo artist ever to go platinum in the US.
In 2011, her first full-length album, Dream with Me, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, and she became the youngest top-5 debut artist in UK history.
Billboard ranked our rising star the top Classical Albums Artist of 2011.
Later that year, Jackie released a full-length holiday album, Heavenly Christmas, and became the youngest person ever to give a solo concert at Lincoln Center in New York City as part of her first concert tour.
Are you impressed? We sure are.
In 2020 she appeared as a contestant on The Masked Singer.
Her resume is incredible. Let’s visit her website and hear her communicate in her own words.
At jackieevancho.com her team educates, “A worldwide sensation when she was only ten years old, Jackie Evancho is moving past the exuberant promise of a child prodigy vocalist and towards maturity as a singer, as a creative artist, and as a young woman. She first dazzled American television audiences at the age of 10 – gaining global recognition with her stunning debut on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Jackie Evancho has released a string of platinum and gold albums, with sales of over 2.5 million in the US.
Along the way, she has also made history – the youngest solo platinum artist . . . the youngest Top 5 debut artist ever in the U.K. . . . the youngest person to give a solo concert at Lincoln Center . . . the highest-ranking debut artist of 2010. All six of Jackie’s albums have hit No. 1 on the Billboard Classical chart.”
Sounds incredible.
Jackie continues to make news.
The informative source talentrecap.com shares, “Jackie Evancho has been performing in various events lately. Last June, she performed for ESI Summit Conference in Houston, Texas. She also did an indoor concert in Ocean City, New Jersey.
Today, alongside touring, she is consistently promoting her newest album, Carousel Of Time. Before this album was issued, she was already releasing some singles in the past.”
We absolutely love the way she communicates.
She certainly found her voice.
What is it that you love? Everyone loves something. Perhaps you should focus in on it and pursue it.
What is holding you back?
Building a persona on the Social Media has become a pathway for many young people and so many young women are having success with it.
Sports is another activity in which you can shine and communicate your talents to your community and abroad. Many young women are doing just that.
First the larger picture.
The legendary Forbes Magazine reports, “The popularity has been growing with women’s sporting events resulting in higher ratings, greater attendance, more sponsors, increased prize winnings and greater media coverage.”
They add that this increase in interest with women’s sports coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of Title IX, passed in June 1972, which helped to create gender equality in sport.
50 years can go by so fast.
That is the general overall acceleration of female sports and one sport in particular is exploding.
The National Federation of State High School Associations educates, “Twenty-five states have added separate girls wrestling championships since 2018, joining the six states of Hawaii, Texas, Washington, California, Alaska and Tennessee to sanction it from 1998 to 2015. Connecticut added an additional class for its 2019-20 postseason, opening the door for its first-ever girls wrestling invitational.”
Phenomenal.
They add that nationally, girl’s participation in wrestling climbed from 4,975 participants in 2005 to 7,351 in 2010. The most recent NFHS High School Athletics Participation Survey revealed participation almost tripled by 2018-19 with 21,124 girls participants.
As many as 28,447 participated during the 2019-20 season, according to data collected from the National Wrestling Coaches Association and state high school associations by the USA Wrestling Girls High School Development Committee.
This is consistent with the many articles that Female Competition International (FCI) has written about female grappling.
So, what is your interest? Music, the Social Media, Journalism or sports?
Whatever it is, maybe it is time to get involved, become good at it and communicate your talents to the rest of us.
The world is waiting on you.
