January 23, 2023,
Are you a high school student ready to graduate soon?
Educate yourself.
It’s about the money.
About scholarships and student aid.
You should, because the cost of going to a four year university, by many standards, is very high.
Are your parents going to be able to help you out or are you on your own?
If they will help you, how much can they contribute and if they suffer a job loss, how will your college fund be affected?
The informative source collegedata.com educates, “In its 2022 report, Trends in College Pricing and Student Aid, the College Board reports that a moderate college budget for an in-state student attending a four-year public college in 2022-2023 averages $27,940. For out-of-state students at public colleges, the average budget comes to $45,240, and for students attending private colleges, the average budget is $57,570.”
At those prices, there is nothing like getting a college education close to home.
We know that many in our circle went to a community college first, then transferred to a state university. Especially if they had to pay for it themselves.
What is your situation like?
There is a way to reduce those college costs. You have to educate yourself. Don’t take the easy way out and apply for one student loan after another that will take you years to a decade to pay back.
We have heard the horror stories, some with debt up to $200,000.
Where might you turn for help?
You pay your taxes, or least your parents do, so turn to the government to see what is available.
At studentaid.gov they inform, “Scholarships are gifts. They don’t need to be repaid. There are thousands of them, offered by schools, employers, individuals, private companies, nonprofits, communities, religious groups, and professional and social organizations.”
Good to know. Some of that is obvious but scholarships offered by employers, individuals, and private companies can be something not really researched.
You should research that.
They continue, “Some scholarships for college are merit-based. You earn them by meeting or exceeding certain standards set by the scholarship-giver. Merit scholarships might be awarded based on academic achievement or on a combination of academics and a special talent, trait, or interest. Other scholarships are based on financial need.
You can learn about scholarships in several ways, including contacting the financial aid office at the school you plan to attend and checking information in a public library or online. But be careful. Make sure scholarship information and offers you receive are legitimate; and remember that you don’t have to pay to find scholarships or other financial aid. Check out our information on how to avoid scams.”
That is very helpful.
Financial aid offices truly can be helpful. Sometimes they have part time job postings.
As of this writing, fast food establishments are begging for applicants and the wages often start at $15.00 an hour. Here in Northern California, we have seen the signs.
Finally, here is a very important point the above government office shares, in case you become very good at securing multiple scholarships. “A scholarship will affect your other student aid because all your student aid added together can’t be more than your cost of attendance at your college or career school. So, you’ll need to let your school know if you’ve been awarded a scholarship so that the financial aid office can subtract that amount from your cost of attendance (and from certain other aid, such as loans, that you might have been offered). Then, any amount left can be covered by other financial aid for which you’re eligible.”
We appreciate that information from the government.
We also like to read information from former college students and now successful professionals who have been there and done that in green stars.
Let’s walk over to the bookstore.
The Full Tuition Scholarships Book 2023: Pay Very Little For College Paperback – October 26, 2022
By Chrisnuel Publishing (Author)
“It’s no news that college cost is expensive and continuously rising. Tuition is a major contributor to high college costs – accounting for more than half of the overall college cost.
The student loan problem is a consequent effect of the expensive cost of acquiring a degree. And the disadvantages of taking a student loan tend to outweigh its advantages.
“If the cost of college is halved, it will be very much affordable for Americans and international students likewise.
However, is this really possible? Yes, it is!
How exactly? Once the cost of tuition and fees is taken off, the overall college cost is halved. This makes college more affordable and allows people to pay far less in acquiring a degree. ”
This is possible through full tuition scholarships, which cover the cost of tuition (and fees in most cases) for recipients.
This scholarship handbook is the best guide for finding Full tuition scholarships that will allow students to attend college at an affordable college cost. These full tuition awards will reduce the total cost of college attendance by more than half.

If you follow the author’s advice, some or most of that could work for you.
Let’s look at another.

Like your high school freshman year or even in junior high school. Start researching this subject early.
