Football players are used to this.
One teammate was a certain size before the summer, when school ended being in session, then was another size, more muscular, when double sessions began in late summer.
No doubt the person worked out heavily in the gym and if muscle growth is your goal, the foods you eat can certainly help in that endeavor.
When we watch female freestyle wrestling on YouTube, one thing that stands out is how the better wrestlers tend to have stronger upper body muscles, in particular, shoulders and arms.
In general, bodybuilding takes a great amount of effort and time to reach the desired results.
A bodybuilder might first be able to gain 8–20 pounds of muscle per year, if lifting for seven hours on a weekly basis.
That sounds like a lot. We do go to the gym and there are some lifters there virtually every day and they are large.
However, gains begin to slow down after the first two years to about 5–15 pounds. After five years, gains can decrease to just 3–10 pounds. Then it is more about maintaining what you have without shrinkage.
What foods can help in your effort to put on muscle and retain it?
According to Forbes Magazine, “If you’re serious about building muscle, then nutrition should be a big focus for you, as what you eat—or don’t eat—is just as important as how you exercise. Studies show that several nutrients such as proteins, folic acid and vitamin B12 play a role in muscle growth and performance.”
Time for a focus on specific foods.
Online research indicates salmon, eggs, chicken breasts, tuna, shrimp, Greek Yogurt and soy beans are some of the foods that can enhance muscle building.
Visuals can sometimes be helpful.
Let’s go to the movies.
Generation Iron is a 2013 American documentary film which follows the world’s leading professional bodybuilders as they train and compete for the 2012 Mr. Olympia.
Considered to be a spiritual sequel to the 1977 documentary Pumping Iron, the film gives access to the lives of the top seven bodybuilders in the sport, including Phil Heath, Kai Greene, Branch Warren, and Dennis Wolf. The film is narrated by Mickey Rourke, and features appearances by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, and Jay Cutler.
Sounds like a very impressive cast.
On to a great YouTube video.
Meet the instructor.
“Hey! I’m Chloe, I’m a Life Coach, Body positive Personal Trainer and Nutritional coach based in the South East of the UK.
From the age of 16-22 I suffered badly from Anorexia and disordered eating. I also modelled professionally for 5 years and took the catwalk in New York & London Fashion Week along with featuring in worldwide campaigns and well known magazines.
I left the fashion industry after being made to lose weight when I was already underweight! I completely turned my life around when I quit modelling and became a PT and nutrition coach and have a much healthier life now and wanted to share my journey with you guys!
I started this channel in 2016 to help others and share my journey. I am now also a Life Coach which is very exciting (as of June 2022)! I love making what i eat in a day vlogs, workout videos, travel vlogs, giving nutrition tips and making videos about mental health/eating disorder recovery tips and lots more!”
Appreciate that Chloe.
