In your personal life experience, in terms of how things have turned out for you, good, bad or in between, would you agree with the thinking that 10 percent of life is what happens to you, 90 percent is how you respond to it?
We agree.
So much of what happens to us in life begins between the ears. It is about making good decisions. Hopefully great ones.
What will give us confidence in making present and future decisions?
Success in previous decisions. It builds confidence.
Since most of you reading this are young, here is how kidshealth.org described confidence, “Confidence means feeling sure of yourself and your abilities — not in an arrogant way, but in a realistic, secure way. Confidence isn’t about feeling superior to others. It’s a quiet inner knowledge that you’re capable.”
Exceptional definition.
What will help you to feel more capable at achieving goals and having success?
Previous, successful accomplishments. Often small. One stepping stone to the next.
This builds confidence.
So much about having success is keeping your word to perform assignments and contracts that you have agreed upon, no matter how small.
Going beyond the expectations of what you and your associate agreed upon. Give them more than they asked for. They will appreciate your efforts and it will build your confidence.
Here is what the dynamic team at psychologytoday.com expressed regarding confidence, “building your confidence can benefit you in many areas of your life—the better you feel, the more you’re willing to say yes to new activities or challenges, and the less likely you are to fall into vices for comfort.”
Good advice.
In terms of confidence, do you want to feel inspired?

We agree. We suggest that you check it out.

Perfectly Confident: How to Calibrate Your Decisions Wisely Hardcover – Illustrated, May 26, 2020
By Don A Moore (Author)
“An expert on the psychology of decision making at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business helps readers calibrate their confidence, arguing that some confidence is good, but overconfidence can hinder growth.
A surge of confidence can feel fantastic—offering a rush of energy, even a dazzling vision of the future. It can give us courage and bolster our determination when facing adversity. But if that self-assurance leads us to pursue impossible goals, it can waste time, money, and energy. Self-help books and motivational speakers tell us that the more confident we are, the better. But this way of thinking can lead to enormous trouble.
Decades of research demonstrates that we often have an over-inflated sense of self and are rarely as good as we believe. Perfectly Confident is the first book to bring together the best psychological and economic studies to explain exactly what confidence is, when it can be helpful, and when it can be destructive in our lives.
Confidence is an attitude that takes into account both personal feelings and the facts. Don Moore identifies the ways confidence behaves in real life and raises thought-provoking questions. How optimistic should you be about an uncertain future? What justifies your confidence in something amorphous and subjective like your attractiveness or sense of humor?
Moore reminds us that the key to success is to avoid being both over- and under-confident. In this essential guide, he shows how to become perfectly confident—how to strive for and maintain the well-calibrated, adaptive confidence that can elevate all areas of our lives.”
Well, there you go.
Another point of view. Very enlightening.
Always remember, no matter which approach you take, building confidence starts one small successful step at a time.
Why not start now?
