April 15, 2023,
You might as well start early.
Very young, we suggest.
If you don’t feel this way already, begin to empower yourself.
What does that mean exactly?
Essentially, take control of your life by taking responsibility for your well-being, happiness and focusing on goals to improve your current situation and your life.
Many organizations talk about empowering women and, we must admit, so often they just sound like clichés.
Let’s try and focus on how you can empower yourself, at an early age.
At CNN they share, “One of the newest recruits to the start-up scene is 13-year-old Moziah Bridges, whose bow tie empire has secured his status as a mini-magnate. The tie-toting youngster developed Mo’s Bows after becoming disenchanted with the world of neckwear, and was shown how to sew his new favorite fashion item together by his grandma.”
Very impressive.
We first saw him some time ago on Shark Tank.
Why don’t we visit him at his home mosbowsmemphis.com for some insight and inspiration, “Moziah’s colorful, handmade ties have made an impression on major networks since Mo’s Bows’ debut?
He’s appeared on The Steve Harvey Show, The Today Show, Good Morning America, 20/20, CBS This Morning, the Disney Channel, and the hit ABC show Shark Tank. Mo’s Bows has also been featured in O: The Oprah Magazine.
The teenage CEO was also inducted into the Tennessee State Museum Costume and Textile Institute in 2014, and then took his fashion expertise to a new level in 2015. Moziah not only served as the fashion correspondent for the 2015 NBA Draft, but was also twice on Time’s list of “30 Most Influential Teens.”
Now that is impressive.
That is about taking control of your life at an early age.
You can too. Especially with the power of the internet where your message can reach millions.

The article provides some great options for you as a teen to get started.
Now, a word of caution. Most of us love to show young success stories but they sometimes come at a cost if you are not careful. The story of young Elizabeth Holmes is a prime example.
Here, another cautionary tale.
Check out this documentary about Startup.com. .
Here is what indiatimes.com had to say about it, “This movie is no less than perfect for entrepreneurs who want to learn more about the rise and fall of internet companies during the dot-com bubble of the mid-1990s. Besides showing you the boom and bust of the dot-com bubble era, the documentary also tells you a cautionary tale of how friendships can drastically turn into bitter rivalries because of internal politics.”
Now for the storyline.
Startup.com is a 2001 American documentary film directed by Jehane Noujaim and Chris Hegedus.
It follows the dot-com start-up govWorks.com, which raised $60 million in funding from Hearst Interactive Media, KKR, the New York Investment Fund, and Sapient.
The startup did not survive, but it became a reference for lessons learned, as it was the subject of a 2001 documentary that follows govWorks founders Kaleil Isaza Tuzman and Tom Herman from 1999 to 2000, as the Internet bubble was bursting.
The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2001. It was released on May 11, 2001, by Artisan Entertainment.
Here is how it was received.
Startup.com received positive reviews from film critics.
On Rotten Tomatoes it holds a 93% approval rating, based on 94 reviews, with an average rating of 7.55/10. The site’s critical consensus reads, “Startup.com is more than just a look at the rise and fall of the new economy. At its center is a friendship being tested to the limit, and that’s what makes it worth viewing.”
On Metacritic, the film has a score of 75 out of 100, based on reviews from 32 critics, indicating “generally favorable reviews.
In terms of empowering your future and learning from other young people’s mistakes, without having to fall yourself, this film could be good for you.
Let’s walk over to the bookstore.
Empowerment! – Become The Person You Want To Be Hardcover – December 30, 2020
By Rabbi Shea Langsam (Author), LMHC (Author), LPC (Author)
“Dave was lost in the forest. He simply didn’t know how to read the map. The trees all looked alike to him and no matter how many times he tried finding his way out, he just ended up back in the same spot – having walked in circles. He was terrified of having to spend the night in the forest.
Suddenly, to his great relief, another hiker came along. This person showed him how to read the map and which markers to look out for. The hiker moved on but this little bit of help made all the difference. He now knew what to look for and how to follow the trail. Before long, he found himself out of the forest.
Hashem has placed us in the forest of life. Sometimes, we get lost. We forget how to read the map. This fascinating book was designed to do just that. This incredible book helps each of us lead the life we really want to lead. Empowerment is…empowering!”
Nothing like first-hand experience to provide some insight.
Always remember the power of the Social Media. If you decide to move forward on your dream and goals, research the various ways the Social Media can be helpful to you.
For those of us who have taken the risk to forge ahead on our own, we have never regretted it. What one of our associates regrets the most is that he played it safe at a 9-5 job for over 20 years and while there was some major benefits to that, he would never do that again.
The empowerment of striking out on your own, as opposed to working for others, will demonstrate there is no ceiling to your money and power and control.
Most of us like both.
When is the best time to begin to empower yourself?
Right now.
